Learn About the Holy Spirit Through Art | Fire Mosaic

The Holy Spirit is represented by many symbols in the Bible: fire, a dove, water, and wind. During Pentecost, onlookers saw tongues of fire descend upon Jesus' disciples.

This lesson allows students to explore the fire symbol of the Holy Spirit through art. Learners get to try their hand at an art form called mosaicism. The oldest mosaic found in ancient Mesopotamia dates to around 3000 BCE.
